Schedule and Registration

Our camp believes that STEAM should  be available to all youth. We are working to provide assistance for anyone who needs help in attending our camp. The number of scholarships we can provide depends on grants and donations.

Register for Winter Camp 2019

Dec 27th - 31st, 2019, Cub World at Camp Tom Wooten

Register

Fees and Registration Details

  • Registration is $175 per youth.  Register in August for a $25 off Early Bird Special
  • Camp is located at Cub World at Camp Tom Wooten, part of Lost Pines Scout Reservation
  • Registration fee includes a patch, flash drive, meals during the camp and all class materials
  • Camp is open to boys and girls registered in either the Cub Scouts or STEM Scouts Elementary School Labs under Boy Scouts of America.  


  • Campers must attend with a parent (Bear Cubs) or parent or unit (Webelos and AOL).
  • Camp participants do not need any prior knowledge or experience with technology
  • Each camper must complete the Boy Scouts of America's online CyberChip training  prior to camp.  Boy Scout members must have a completed Cyber Chip card signed by their unit leader. Non-BSA participants need the video  completion printout. Click here for more information. 
  • Each camper must complete and submit a camp medical form on the first day check-in at camp. Click here for more information.


  • As part of the registration, youth and parents will be asked about allergies and other concerns.  Please include anything you think we need to know, especially about food allergies.  These will be taking into consideration while planning the camp menu.

Camp Hours

Camp Dec 27th 1:00pm and will end Dec 30th, 12:00noon

  • Lunch will not be served on either the 27th or the 30th.  


Evening Activities

Evening Activities will be in the evening and outside.  Please come with clothes and gear for these colder activities.  


Conduct

Participants are expected to behave in a Scout like manner and follow both the Scout Law and the Outdoor Code.   Camp instructors will ask for parent or adult leader to help dealing with conduct issues is needed during the camp. 


Camp Chores

All camp participants and families will be assigned chores for each day at check in.  These chores can include, but are not limited to: cleaning restrooms, helping with ceremonies, cleaning dining hall after classes or meals, cleaning up after evening activities or helping make sure nothing is left at the camp on the last day.  If you have any worries are concerns about this, please contact us at techlabcamp@gmail.com


Bringing games, etc or for break times

Camp participants are welcome and encouraged to bring balls and/or Frisbee and indoor games to play with if they would like.   Please make sure that the youth's name is on anything brought to camp! Although they are allowed to bring bikes, we highly suggest to not bring them - it will be cold, wet and probably fairly muddy.  


Med Lodge and Medications

The med lodge is on the side of Wooten Lodge and will be prepared for minor accidents and illnesses.  It will be the responsibility of the parent or adult leader in charge of the youth for transportation and care oversight if services from a doctor or hospital are needed. 


Medications to be taken at camp must be controlled by the Parent or adult leader in charge of the youth.  All medication must be in the proper and original containers labeled with the patient's name, medication name and written dosage directions.
